Moreover, the activity of Payment Institutions and its Agents is supervised by the French financial regulation authority: ACPR (namely Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution). 🚧

Enrollment constraint

To receive their funds Merchants must have a bank account located within the European Economic Area (EEA). If your activity takes place in a different area, please inform your account manager.

Part of the due diligence process mentioned above is the customer identification process, known as the “Know Your Customer” process, also often referred to as the KYC or KYB process (for Know Your Business).

For further details on Thunes Collections’ KYC procedure, please read on.

Process

Step 1: Merchant's introduction

Merchants should email a subscription request to the email address below, in order to have access to Thunes Collections' payment services: [email protected]

Thunes Collections’ support team will email back the KYC instructions and the Payment Services Contract according to the merchant's subscription choices.

Step 2: KYC Documents Collection

The merchant should fill out and provide the documents as instructed by Thunes Collection, verify if it has not forgotten anything with the provided verification checklist, and then reply to Thunes Collections.

After an integrity check, Thunes Collections will transmit the provided documents to its Payment Institution partner (aka PI) for a comprehensive compliance check.

Step 3: KYC Validation

The compliance department of the Payment Institution (PI), among other due diligence, analyzes identity documents and matches customer’s names against a list of known parties. After evaluating the risk of merchant's activity in the collecting model, the PI partner informs Thunes Collections of its final decision to approve or block the merchant's enrollment.

In turn, Thunes Collections informs the merchant or, depending on the situation, its Payment Service Provider for the Payment Institution decision: approval or refusal.

In case of a refusal, Thunes Collections will communicate the decision to the merchant or to the merchant’s Payment Service Provider.

In case of approval, the merchant will go on with the process and move to the next step.

Step 4: Back Office Configuration & official communication

Once the KYC file of the Merchant has been approved, Thunes Collections will invite the merchant to proceed to its technical enrollment, and will provide the following:

  • a merchantId
  • a list of expected paymentpageid
  • a back office access
